Stones Throw
Like a stone thrown to never come back
its sides smooth its top flat.
It sails where only birds and God should be.
It returns to rest beside you and me.
This stone is thrown by only one man,
an unwilling servant stricken to roam the land.
I have dodged this rock for as long as I can,
but now that the end is near I welcome his empty hand.
